    great review…thanks

you gave me just enough confidence to swap out visors and break it..sweet

if you can’t take a shield off you aren’t very intelligent. I’m not a big fan of the shield system but it’s not rocket science.

  4. ajosephb says:

naw…that just means I’m not very good at swapping out visors..unlike the stud muffin in the video

lol. I was being a bit hard on ya anyway. Still, the arai shields are nicer than some I’ve tried. Take a look at a GMAX GM68. I swear those things are made of a crumbly french cheese of some sort.

To remove the shield just lift the 2 tabs just like Brian is doing but instead of taking the shield off fast as in the deminstration all you need to do is keep lifting the shield past the point where it normally would stop and it comes off easy. The shield system is a bit strange at first but once you get used to it its easy. Also I really like that Arai use friction when opening and closing the shield instead of a ratchet type of system like most helmets. Good review Brian

Its funny how many people are intimidated by the shield on Arai. Just bit the bullet and have a go its easy and you dont have to rip the visor off just lift it past its normal stop position and it comes right off.
