Building VoltZilla The Electric motorcycle “forkencycle”

This is my 1976 Honda CB 550 that i converted to electric. I took an old Raymond model 20 fork truck and used the guts for my motorcycle. This is photo video of building the bike, there will be more to come. After turning in the scrap from the forktruck, I spent .61 as of right now, including the cost of new tires. It covered the cost of almost everything I bought to make this project happen... "voltzilla" is its name, thanks rob for the name ... How did u get voltzilla out of killacycle ...

Can I have your old CB550 motor?

That gear box looks pretty big and heavy. You could use one of the many harley style trannys. They’re smaller and probably much lighter. A used one perhaps? Save on weight?

    Great WORK!!!

well done!,I have used electric fork lifts to push start tractor & trailers before, the motor should have more than enough torque to run thru the gears and maintain the speed, must be nice to have someone give you a working forklift traction controll resistor assembly & harness,I would not be a bit surprised if the bike exceeded 100mph in high gear.

you still need to be a electrician though the wiring seems complex you also need security so the thing doesnt runaway emergency shut down you never know …

maybe this is why aramco have sold 1000000 barrels less of oil everyone is using electric.

I don’t mean to break your bubble or anything, especially after cramming that large motor and forklift controler in there but, most EV bikes are having much better luck just running direct drive from motor to chain to rear sprocket. Saves on much weight, and that is very important on an EV of any kind. Great fab work by-the-way.

that like 1 milion watts ?? right orr what it cant be thaT MUCH

  19. ferraridriver16 says:

no, that was a Back to the Future movie reference. You need 1.21 gigawatts and be traveling at 88 miles per hour to be able to travel through time

  20. AmericansSexualPreds says:

hah yed that would be too much for and engine hhuh wayy to much
