at that time the Britten had 170 horsepower , Andrew Stroud and Jason McEwan cleaned up in practice but one bike dropped a bearing and they had no spares , but the second one cleaned up anyway. awesome

    No -

This clip neglects to mention the help JB got to create this, Him and his MATES built this bike… He didn’t do it alone.

  4. Petrolhead1984 says:

    No he is rip now

  5. jamesandrew2000 says:

I understand your point fully. I wanted to add that the writer/producers of a show like this tend to use generalizations for the sake of the casual viewer. Of course he had help, but they are implying that it wasn’t produced by an army of designers at a factory.. Should be rated # 1.

apologies for cheap advertising plug :)

  7. nomis777 says:

im sure Mike sinclair(Kenny Roberts 500cc main guy)helped a heck of a lot, providing parts(maybe ohlins sus for one)and real expertise and advice to britten.

  8. LeeroyHamsterNo1 says:

    Should have been #1

  9. destined2sleep says:

absolutely correct, these morons like big business apparrently, imagine that

  10. destined2sleep says:

ur absolutely WRONG. idiot, he and a few mates did it all

  11. toycoutter1977 says:

gran motocicleta unica en su clase realmente tendria que haber sido la mumero 1

  12. thereaper91 says:

This should have been No.1 How many other home built bikes hold 12 yes 12 word records ?

  13. malcolm1263 says:

I agree it should and as far as im concern it is No 1

  14. mandaltby says:

Harley needs to make a cool race sport bike. They did that at at the start. Now they make ancient grandpa machines. I love my sporty, but there is room for a couple of harley sport bikes, truly revolutionary, not the lame Vrod.

  15. chrlit11 says:

You would be wrong, dipshit. He did it all himself with the help of friends and neighbours, for nothing. Almost everything on the bike was custom built, and the parts that weren’t were the ones that failed and stopped him from kicking everyones ass the first time. Do your research before bagging a legend. Dick.

  16. crowdogr6 says:

Baddest fucking bike in the world bar none.

  17. loscochinosdelmar says:

No Simon, he came up with the concept, designed it and built it with the help of a several good mates. Funnily enough, the only parts that crapped out on the bike weren’t hand made by him, they were off the shelf stuff.

  18. loscochinosdelmar says:

Hey nomiss/simon go to NZ On Screen and do a search for Britten – Backyard Visionary. It is a documentary that screened in NZ in the early 90′s that followed the building of the second bike he took to Daytona. The documentary is in 5 parts and is 45 minutes long and is well worth a look at. For some reason, I can’t post the URL here, but take a look and see if you would care to change your opinion.

  19. dawetton says:

you couldnt put a price on that bike, it should have been number 1. John Britten was a genious

  20. braino2000 says:

The Vrod is actually a pretty sweet bike… It’s fast for a cruiser and actually good because it was designed by Porsche. Buell is made by harley but buells are shitty sport bikes…

  21. relicareligia says:

man if i won the lottery i’d give all the winnings to his family just for the chance to ride that machine.

  22. xzistpo says:

    Should be number 1

  23. loo85 says:

This is to show that when you have passion and dream, everything is possible, and it is no exception on this bike and the man either…

  24. pencon61 says:

Iwas at a roadrace in the 80′s and the Britten was winning the race , when out of nowhere he got passed by a honda 90 cub. owned!

  25. hellspawndarkangel says:

the reason it shouldnt be the greatest ever is because of the fact that not everyone coyuld get theyre hands on 1 butn it is by far the most innovative motorcycle ever built
