That’s mostly a myth today. Unlike the 2-stroke engines of just a few years ago which required oil mixed with gas, most scooters today use 4-stroke engines which burn almost no oil. Modern fuel-injection also helps to reduce emisions significantly. Finally, scooters today typically consume even less fuel, which means even fewer CO2 and carbon dioxide emissions.
