its bad to ride a clutch period bro weather its a bike or a manual car. your going to be wearing that clutch out and its not expensive to replace its jus expensive for the maintenance and time. im not expert in bikes but i have a 6speed GLI and its never good to ride the clutch unless you like blowing cash =]
thank you so much for this video; it was extremely helpful. i’ll be sure to try this out as soon as i can. pls put more vids up! can you do one on how to apply the brakes properly? i’m having a ton of trouble stopping smoothly and using both brakes together. thanks again!
You,ve probably had loads of thanks. But i’m getting my first bike tomorrow and spent all week watching vids. One day left and i’m glad i’ve seen this one. Best by far.
Thanks a lot for the vid, I practiced for the first time today and it really helped me out alot. my main problem was basically starting off. It’s hard for me to gain the balance between releasing the clutch slowly and applying gas to start off. thanks for this vid though
What happens if your on the highway and you mistakenly hit the kill switch. do you turn your bike back on? or get off the road. Does a bike have hazard lights?
Well, I’ve never done that before but I would imagine that I would pull in the clutch, put the kill switch in the run position and restart the motor. then resume riding, probably downshift a gear or two as the bike will slow down. Most bikes don’t have caution lights. A motorcycle battery would die really fast if it wasn’t running and had to power flashing lights.
I’ve had my bike for 5 days now. And i’m doing fine. But I just watched this vid again. I noticed you said pull in the clutch then pull the brake. I’ve been applying the brake and when near to stopping completely pulling the clutch. I’m not having any problems braking when doing this, but is it better to pull in the clutch before touching the brakes? Thanks.
It all depends on what gear, RPM and MPH you are at. The only time i’d recommend to pull in the clutch before applying the brake is 1st gear <10MPH @ <2000RPM for the reason of trying not to stall the motor. When you are in higher gears at a higher RPM and MPH if you brake while the clutch is NOT pulled in, it will help you brake faster, just remember to shift when your RPM drops too low. When the clutch is pulled in "Engine Braking" is useless as a result all braking is focused on your brakes.
