Motorcycle Hits Deer, Helmet Cam 6-28-09

I hit a buck on my 04 GSXR 1000 on June 28, 2009. I did not crash, but the bike is totaled. The guys behind me said the deer spun like a top across the road. Not only did I not crash, but there was no car coming the other way to kill me when I crossed over. I rode it for another 45 mins until my bike overheated due to loss of antifreeze. I am completely fine. It only just grazed my knee. Unfortunately, I forgot to buy a lotto ticket that same day. Filmed with a VIO POV 1.5 helmet cam....

Ok. I ride in Southeast Oklahoma, you don’t ride after dark because of those things. It doesn’t matter if he was doing the speed limit or not, deer just jump out in front of you, they are stupid. I had one slam into my car while I was driving down the highway, IT HIT ME, it was standing in the meadian perfectly still with its buddies, I slowed down to 35 from 75 it turned and just slammed into me, all the other deer just stood there like wtf. So the lesson is even other deer hate stupid deer.

You are lucky, and good save. About a foot lower though and it may have been skidsville.

The only thing to be labeled “stupid” here is YOU. You need a reality check. Respect for nature? In New England deer kill dozens of people every year because of their tendency to run in front of traffic. You don’t see too many “farm house children” doing that, you moron.

The overpopulation of deer in that region is because of idiots like YOU.

Terms, good on ya keeping that Gixxer up. You are one fortunate rider. ATGATT!

  14. termites4000 says:

yeah, PETA people are dumb. i dont understand why they value animals lives over their own kind… maybe they should be abolished and live in the woods with the rest of the animals

I was hit by a deer a couple months ago. It broadsided me washing out the rear causing me to go down. Good thing you kept it up at that speed. Ride on!
