Good video for new bike riders. Its not a question of if you will fall, but rather when?

Not really. The tank bag and rear luggage makes it look taller, and I think the dude is fairly short in stature.

    Good video!

thanks! this is exactly what u tube is for. sharing knowledge. i’ve etched these techniques into my memory. i have just bought a R1100GS. i WILL drop it, and i WILL use these methods to pick (try!) it up. i normally use a 250cc, so dropping my gs for the 1st time will be a big shock. thanks once more.

It’s a good video, however he mentions the killswitch, but he never says anything about the hot exhaust(s)… Both those things are equally obvious, but he mentions only one. What’s up with that ?

Thank you for the post! My bike had blown over in the wind, and together with a neighbour who showed up in a timely fashion (@2am!) we got it up with relative ease. : )

another reason women should only ride on the back seat!!!!

lol just kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pretty cool vid, just hope if I ever drop mine I’ll be able to attempt to pick it up instead of having to have medics pick me up……

Kill switch ASAP! The engine will be running w/o oil and will suffer damage if it runs long.

I agree that the exhaust is a good point to bring up. Especially since “you” are involving a person who has stopped to help you that more then likely doesn’t know anything about bikes. If that’s the person going near the exhaust you might want to warn them.

Good vid none the less ;)

haha, lay on the ground and someone will come and help. Love it ;)

This video was excellent. Thank you very much for sharing that with us. None of my biker mates have shared tips like that with me! That will stop the laughing hyenas:-). Thanks again.

I dropped my Triumph Tiger once when I skidded on a roundabout in Charlton ,London. The bike weighed 205 kg and I lifted it up using the handle bar and the back pannier frame but I was facing the bike.
It was like doing weight lifting for the first time with too much weights on!! lololol

If it falls on its side at 2am and the alarm goes off then I find neighbors are on-hand to help all the sooner :p
