Radial engine motorcycle

This motorcycle made by JRL is just awesome. Powered by a radial engine. I haven't seen anything like that ever. Notice how fast it revs up. Go here for some faq : www.jrlcycles.com Here is another radial engine powered motorcycle. Its made by Jesse James : thekneeslider.com Though I respect Jesse James' creations very much, I think the JRL cycle is much more sleek.

west coast choppers has one with the engine mounted facing forwards check it on their website

that is a brand-new Rotax radial engine sold for use in small home-built experimental airplanes. Most of the WWII aircraft radials were nearly 6-feet in diameter.

    yes, how many?

Very very very very nice. radial engines: from plane to motorbike :D

I think this is an Australian Rotec R2800 engine, not a Rotax.

    how many cylinders it have??

  14. slothmandela says:

how long before you have to fill the tank lol 1mile?

  15. londonoverground says:

wasnt there any early australian radial where the cyclinders actually rotated? or am i talking shit? please let me know

  16. Bamchucknorris says:

your thinking of a rotary enigne.
raidal enignes turn the crankshaft while rotary engines such as the bently br-2 have spinning cylenders and a stationary crankshaft.

  17. londonoverground says:

aha thanks. do you reckon it would be possible to fit a bike with a rotary and have a belt attached to the crankcase somehow?

  18. Bamchucknorris says:

its possible, yes it is, as long as you can weld a gear for the belt on the crank case and put some kind of guard around the spinning enigne.

  19. 69sexymonk69 says:

no, a rotary engine has rotors, no cylinders and a spinning crankshaft

  20. Bamchucknorris says:

your thinking of a wankel roatry. there are rotary engines with pistons such as the bently br-2. yourtube “bently br-2″ you will see

  21. wavernr says:

Cool idead! But seems like it would be a pain to have to drop the lower plugs to drain the oil out of the cylinders before you start it all the time.

  22. stinkingdog101 says:

needs a relly slow loping idle….that is one of the major seeling aspects of the large VTwin Cycles.

  23. swinkyuk says:

That’s a type of rotary engine yes, such as the wankel, but the older type of radialy configured piston engines where the cylinders spin on a stationary crank are also called rotary engines.

    Cooling?
