In which aspect ratio does the camera film? In this clip you show 16:9, but in another everywhere 4:3. Do you make later the picture stretch or the camera can shoot in 16:9 ?

  2. TachyonXC says:

The camera films in 4:3. For this wide-screen trailer we cropped the top and bottom of some of the clips, and stretched a few others, depending on which looked best for that clip.

When is the HD model going to be available????
Check out out trailer here in uTube! We could really use a camera like this!!!

  6. TachyonXC says:

We don’t have an HD (recordable) camera yet, but as you can see, you can edit our video files to look pretty good in wide-screen HD.

Does it have to use non rechargeable batteries? I have several brands of NiMH batteries, I am sure some will fit the narrow width battery chamber, no? Or will they simply not work because of different voltage?

We’ve done some test already… when next to True HD footage, HD blowups stand out…
I’ll definitely keep my eyes on your page and will be your first customer when you launch an HD model!!!

  9. TachyonXC says:

    Hi,
Yes you will need to use non-rechargeable, not only because of the size but also because of the power, which is not compatible.

you guys really need to get a cheapish HD recordable unit out.

If you could keep the unit price down to roughly what the XC is just now I would have your babies. It’s the only thing stopping me from getting a head camera which is a shame. I know sony do one but at £2000 its a bit ridiculous. You guys would have the market to yourselves because theres nothing else out there to compete with.

Seriously guys get some HD recording platforms out there.

    Who dares, wins

hey i’ve brought the tachyon xc, and i’m realy happy with it, but when i went to produce the footage using powerdirector it crashes. i was wondering what program you use to edit your films, or if you know a way around the problem.

I really want to get one of these… the only problem is finding a UK dealer… does anyone know of any dealers?

If not I may be forced to get the ATC2k or ATC3k, both with bad sound.

How come the xc has great sound, and is still waterproof?
